Interesting choice with possibilities

First of all, think of what you want from Berlin. If you are mainly in the Eastern part, it is only 20 minutes per tram to Alexanderplatz and 20 min. to Simon-Dach-Kiez to another direction, so very good for that, and the trams run frequently. It is also a pretty nice walk towards Frankfurter Allee. Personnel was really nice - all points to them! Breakfast was really really good, wide choice of anything you would desire. With the newspaper that was my every day fun for about an hour at time ;) as I was on holiday with no rush! The only thing I was hoping for more, are the beds- it was okay, but could be a bit better in softness as this was a bit rough. Maybe these are the renovation-goal - hopefully at least! I loved the atmosphere in the room, nice pics from DDR and some of the east-flair. Very convenient. Will probably be back here!

Good

Right next to all transport network . Not a lot around hotel but was near to a tram stop . Room could have been better with a kettle n tea option and the TV has NO English channels an was a very old big square type version from the 90’s . Shower and bed excellent Bad: No kettle in room or English channels

Bit far out of town

Hotel is a bit far away from tourist attractionsbut Tram 6 or 5 at top of road will take you to centre. Get all day ticket from recption - staff very helpful, house 3 is further away from main building but queter

Perfectly good hotel if a little way out (which isn’t a huge problem thanks to Berlin’s efficient transport system)

City Hotel Berlin East was a Hotel we had rearranged as our original hotel could no longer honour our arrangement. The hotel is built on a three Haus system. We were located in Haus 3 next to a busy road and apparently and Ambulance route for emergency runs. Whilst this was not ideal the general traffic was not problematic. The area is mostly residential so there was not huge amounts of people out in bars as there weren’t any in the immediate vicinity. The room was very nice and to a high standard and you’d be hard pushed to complain. Especially since it was just a bed and shower for us. The bathroom was very nice too with a good shower and surprisingly spacious. There was noise from other rooms however no more than in any other hotel. The tv has limited English language channels but this hotel has mostly non-British patrons. The breakfast included was very nice with a good selection although the absence of any rotation in the breakfast menu wore thin on our third day of three. But it was perfectly good just a change would’ve been nice. Warm food was limited to scrambled eggs, baked beans and frikadellen whilst there was also continental, sweet, cereal and toast choices to help yourself too so we could fill up before walking miles in the city. The transport links mean being 3 or so miles out from Alexanderplatz I’m not a huge problem. Had the weather been warmer I’d have happily walked in more than just the first day. With the local transport system the M6 tram took us straight in to Alexanderplatz where the city’s main attractions at generally within walking distance. Staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful with regards to getting additional pillows and an additional card for access to the gym allowing me to sleep in whilst my friend pumped iron. The hotel bar was nice enough although it lacked a bit of vibrancy. The limited showing of live football was unusual as one night the Champions League was shown and the next not. That’s just picky on my part though. Overall this served us really well. It would have been nicer to have been situated more centrally but beggars can’t be choosers.

Citytrip stay

Hotel was good value for money. Nothing too fancy but very proper. Parking available, free parking nearby with direct connection to public transport. Always a pleasure in Berlin, great city, great shopping and always very good food.

Hotel near tram stop in Berlin East

Location was excellent, near tram stops. The room was spacious enough for 3 people Bad: There were no fridge and kettle in the room.

Awesome

It was a good location and staff were helpful. Bad: Walls were a bit thin and could sometimes hear other people.

Fair price for quality Bad: The beds were awful. Double room with seperate beds, which slide and you can fall in :)

Value for money hotel, with a few changes could be perfect

The staff was really helpful, Bad: The rooms need improvement. A 20 year old tv could not be part of the facilities, the bathroom one night had a terrible smell, but the receptionist politely apologized and offered another room, the parking at a hotel so far from the city center should not be charged

First time in Berlin - perfectly acceptable

I stayed on the 12th floor in house 2. There are actually three towers or "Haus" - all of them apparently part of the same Berlin Hotel/Holiday Inn complex. Found it modern, roomy and spacious. I had a good view of the area. This is just my experience. I stayed for 4 nights. Some other I spoke with stayed together in a smaller room in Haus 3 on the 6th floor which they felt was a bit out-dated - especially the TV (which I couldn't care less about). The area is about 9 kilometers from the tourist downtown areas, like the Brandenburg Tor, The Dom, TV Tower, etc. I used the tram to get around and it required a bit of walking but not too bad. I sprung for the included breakfast which I found crowded but very adequate.

Nice trip to Berlin

The hotel was clean and nice. It costed the price. The services were really good. It is not located nearby the city centre but there were really good public transport and it was really easy to travel.

A bath is difficult to get in and out of.Of course we prefer a shower rather than a bath. Room was clean. The towels were changed. Besides a reasonably cozy bar, there was also a vending machine with soft drinks and beer.Three convenient tram lines, the stops of which were close to the hotel. Breakfast was well taken care of.

Few days in Berlin

Hotel was very good and was in a good location as it was away from the city enough not to be disturbed when sleeping but also very close to public transport services. I would recommend getting the tram but not getting off at Landsberger Allee as it’s a very long street and you do need to walk a while to then get to the hotel, instead get off at Altenhofer Str. which is on the M6 route and walk in the back entrance of the hotel. Rooms were ok but pillows weren’t the greatest and the duvets were thin. Double beds consisted of two singles pushed together with two single duvets. Breakfast was nice and there was a varied option. There are a few shops on Landsberger alee if you’ve forgotten something. Don’t drink the water in the room or you’ll be charged €4.50!! Overall we had a great stay for the 3 days we were there.

My wife and I had one of the most pleasant holidays thanks to City Hotel Berlin East. We stayed in the second tower on the 9th floor. The room was fantastic, super clean, with an amazing view. Beds are really comfortable. It was quiet and warm (3rd February). WiFi works great! Location is super convenient since there is a nearby tram station with several options to reach any part of the city. Stuff was amazing and very helpful. Next time we visit Berlin, City Hotel Berlin East will be our place to stay. Overall, highly recommended!
