Due to its moving history, the Brandenburg Gate is one of the most visited places Berlin. The famous gate, with its quadriga, is the national symbol for the unification of Germany.

Friedrichstraße leads through the Center of Berlin. The German Theatre, the Berliner Ensemble and the Metropol theater are located across from the station Friedrichstraße, and the legendary Friedrichstadtpalast is nearby. Next to the underground station “Kochstraße” you find the wall Museum and the former border checkpoint Charlie. Friedrichstraße is also a shopping paradise: the shopping street offers shops, cafes, restaurants, and the impressive shopping centre line ‘Galerie Lafayette’ and the “Friedrichstadt Passagen”.

Berlin TV Tower: At 368 meters high, the TV Tower in Alexanderplatz is the tallest building in Germany. From the panorama floor you can enjoy a fantastic view over the capital. The Tower restaurant makes 2 full rotations per hour, giving visitors a unique 360 ° panoramic view of Berlin.

Alexanderplatz: Alexanderplatz in Berlin Mitte is located in the corridor between the eastern and western part of the capital and is a central transportation hub and meeting place for Berliners and visitors from all over the world. The world clock and the fountain of friendship of Nations are famous examples of DDR aesthetics. Many individual and original shops and large shopping centers border Alexanderplatz, such as the Alexa, the newest and largest shopping mall of Berlin.

The Nikolai district in Berlin Mitte is an old Berlin milieu district around the Nikolai Church, the oldest parish church of the city. Its numerous cafés, restaurants, studios and small shops invite you to stroll.

Gendarmenmarkt
With its Concert Hall, Schauspielhaus (Schinkel’s famous theatre), the French Cathedral and the German Cathedral, Gendarmenmarkt, near Friedrichstraße, is one of the most beautiful places in Europe. Around Gendarmenmarkt, you’ll also find the best restaurants in Berlin, including the renowned Borchardts restaurant.

Unter den Linden
The historic, magnificent Boulevard Unter den Linden is lined with numerous sights of the capital: The Royal palaces, the German State Library, the German State Opera, and the Opera's Palace. Unter den Linden is also home to the famous Hotel Adlon.

Hackescher Markt
The Hackeschen Höfe in the Hackescher Markt is the largest closed courtyard area in Germany. It houses a unique mix of artist spaces, residences, shops and restaurants. Night owls will find great nightlife spots in the Hackescher Markt area in Berlin Mitte.

Museum Island
The Museum Island is one of the most important Museum complexes in Europe, having five of the most important museums on the Spree Island:

  • The Neue Museum, whose exhibits include the bust of Nefertiti.
  • The Pergamon Museum, which has the impressive Pergamon altar.
  • The Alte Museum, which houses a fascinating antique collection.
  • The old National Gallery, which has sculptures and paintings of the 19th century.
